FLL Shuttle Services

Shuttle Services

Go Airport Shuttle owns the concession rights at Fort Lauderdale's Airport. Taking a shuttle to the Port of Miami is not the cheapest option, when compared with using public transportation "which is ridiculously cheap" at a little less that $30.00 per person the shuttle ride works well for one or two people who would rather not navigate the public transportation route.

FLL Taxis

Taxi Services

Taking a taxi down to Miami is probably not your best option for this longer route. It costs $80.00 the last time I looked "insert date". Of the four different options available it falls squarely at the bottom. It is cheaper than a private town car, but only by $12.00, which makes more sense when one considers that's a fixed rate in a much nicer car.

FLL Limo's

Limo Services

Normally when I see a Limo or the likes, my brain just turns off, mainly because I don't get why anyone would want to spend so much money for something simple, like getting from A to B. For this 30-mile trip between Broward and Dade it's probably the best option unless you're traveling alone. Go Airport Shuttle is the officially provider of town cars from FLL and offers a wide range of vehicles to choose from. Many other providers are also allowed to pick up at the airport.

Public Transportation

Traveling down to the Port of Miami using public transportation is extremely cheap, so cheap you will have a decent amount of cash leftover you could have a nice meal with it. Like most things in life there is a trade off for been able to save so much money when compared to the other options. Costing only $3.75 per person, you could save $25 each compared to taking a shuttle for small groups. Larger groups save a little less as they could take a taxi costing $80.00 so a group of four would save $65.00.

You will need to budget a couple of hours, if you're considering using public transportation. "About 30 minutes more than other options" It is worth noting though, that it is unlikely you will experience any major delays, something that could happen if you're using another service, due to the fact they are traveling down interstate I-95

The journey starts simply by taking a free shuttle provided by TRI Rail from the airport to the closest station Dania Beach, seven miles south. From there you will board a train which will take you down to Miami from there you have a couple of different options. All this may sound a little complicated, it is not though. For this reason I have created a simple document that you can print out explaining each step of the trip here.
